  • Felipe Asso Ayala ganó las elecciones municipales de 1931

    El 12 de abril de 1931 tuvieron lugar elecciones municipales en La Puebla de Arganzón. La Junta Municipal del Censo Electoral estaba presidida por Don Benito Quintana Martinez, siendo vocales de la misma Paulino Piñol Martinez y Pedro Saenz Santa María como mayor contribuyente, Federico Alonso gonzalez como industrial, Antonio López Lopidana como concejal, , Marcelino Guinea Ramirez como ex juez, Don Angel Palacios Guinea como industrial y ejerciendo como secretario Paulino Burguera, que también lo era del ayuntamiento. La mesa se constituyó sin interventores, y con la renuncia de dos de sus miembros, bajo la presidencia de Fermín Aguayo Angulo y con la asistencia de Sotero Abecia Anuncibay y Vicente Zatón Gómez. Jesús Perez de Mediola y Armentia, cura presbítero de la Parroquia de San Pedro Apostol de Villanueva de la Oca solicita que le sea aceptada la renuncia por ser la elección en domingo y tener que atender Misa, Catequesis, Vísperas y Rosario, renuncia que le es aceptada. Victor Martinez de Salinas Vozmediano, presbítero de la parroquia de la Asunción obtiene igualmente la renuncia por similares motivos. No habiendo candidatos proclamados, los llamados a votar eran 138, todos varones pues entonces no estaba aceptado el voto femenino y mayores de 25 años. 95 de ellos votaron a lo largo de la jornada, 93 con nombres de elegibles y dos en blanco. En total fueron 9 los candidatos que obtuvieron voto en la siguiente proporción:
    1. Felipe Asso Ayala: 75 votos
    2. Protasio Martinez Cañas: 74 votos
    3. Inocencio Ayala Ayala: 73 votos
    4. Fermín Aguayo Angulo: 72 votos
    5. Cándido San Martín Aberasturi: 71 votos
    6. Manuel Ayala López: 66 votos
    7. Segundo Aguirre Hueto: 49 votos
    8. Paulino Piñol Martinez: 1 voto
    9. Francisco Román Zárate: 1 voto
    Los siete primeros candidatos fueron proclamados concejales electos. El informe enviado a la Dirección General del Instituto Geográfico, Catastral y de Estadística en diciembre de 1931 indica el "caracter republicano" de los electos.
